Lives are being changed at the Hispanic Family Foundation as we continue to meet emergency disaster relief needs, assist new immigrants / refugees arriving in Middle Tennessee, and run programs like summer camps.
Our work at HFF encompasses many different areas and serves many people of all ages and ethnicities. Some of our programs require donated items and emergency/disaster supplies which we need to pick up and often deliver to those in need.
Other programs, like our educational programs, require transporting students to and from locations during our after school program schedule and summer camps.
Since many of our families do not have transportation of their own, getting people to and from, as well as transporting goods becomes a huge challenge. We cannot always find volunteers to give people rides or go and pick up donated items as we get them.
The solution to this great challenge is a transport vehicle!
A van would allow us to pick up the donations we need for the people that we serve. A van would allow us to transport the kids in our Baila groups to their performances safely, and it would also allow us to transport our elderly community members and mothers with babies to their homes after collecting their monthly diapers and needs.
A van would also allow us to transport refugees or disaster victims to safe housing/shelters after an emergency.
Our goal is to raise $40,000 to purchase a Transit van that would meet our needs and help our community. Your donation will help families and individuals receive the assistance they need to survive and get them to and fro safely and quickly. Your donation could be the difference between someone getting the urgent supplies they need after a disaster, a ride to an appointment, or food on their table.
